Two-mode skill for structured software project development using the harness engineering pattern. **Mode 1 — Project Architect** (`/architect` or starting a new project): Interview the user about their project, guide them through architecture and technology decisions (language, framework, storage, build tooling, CI/CD, testing), record Architecture Decision Records, then generate three files: CLAUDE.md (agent harness), docs/ARCHITECTURE.md, and a phased docs/PROJECT_STATUS.md with implementation phases, per-phase file lists, test requirements, and done criteria. **Mode 2 — Build Next** (`/build-next` or "implement the next phase"): Read docs/PROJECT_STATUS.md, find the first incomplete (⬜) phase, implement exactly that one phase, run tests, verify they pass, then update the status document. Enforce: one phase per session, tests must pass before marking complete, conventional commit message. Use this skill whenever: the user is starting a greenfield project and needs architecture guidance; the user says "/architect"; the user says "/build-next" or "implement the next phase" or "work on the next phase"; the user references PROJECT_STATUS.md and wants to make progress; the user wants to break a project into implementation phases.
build-next is an agent skill entry in ChatHome Skills, sourced from GitHub Skill Search and scored 58/100. # build-next This skill runs in two modes. Detect which mode applies from context: - **Mode 1 (Architect)**: No `docs/PROJECT_STATUS.md` exists yet, or the user. As an agent skill, it packages a reusable instruction set that AI coding agents such as Codex and Claude Code can load to perform this task without hand-written glue code. ChatHome Skills discovered this entry through its daily ingest of official registries and GitHub discovery queries, and re-verifies repository facts, freshness signals, and install metadata on every run. The quality score weighs official-registry presence, a working install command, license clarity, GitHub star trajectory, and repository freshness — the full formula is on the Sources page. The install command above is ready to copy. Review the last-pushed date and repository status before adding build-next to a production agent workflow; the snapshot facts below are point-in-time values from the most recent ingest.
